Nothing but a good entrée for the year – the young and new Dewakan has a bright future ahead!

Coming in at 46th at the recent Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019 awards ceremony in Macau, the Malaysian-born business is yet another celebrated win for the country – not long after the Pastry Cup 2019 championship.

For Chef Darren Teoh, it has been a long and hard effort to hit that peak – nonetheless worthwhile. Collaborating with local farmers and producers, it simply puts Malaysian produce on the map. And the chef humbly shares the win with the community for that,

“It’s nice to be acknowledged for the work that’s being done by all in Malaysia, the farmers, the producers and other restaurants who are pushing it every day as well as our guests and the guys at the restaurant now and before.”

Proud to represent his homeland.

Experimenting and using indigenous produce, he concocts unique dishes for fine dining with tastes familiar to the locals. From ‘Roast eggplant with keluak & candlenut oil’ to ‘Choy Sum Nori’, their food is an expression of art as stated on their website ‘Your Plate A Canvas’. Check out their menu for more scrumptious and elegant dishes.

Currently located in Glenmarie Shah Alam, the chef intends to relocate to the city centre to make the restaurant easily accessible.
